Winter Woodland Management 2014

|
By Mike Rushton 01 December 2014 In late November Mike and a group of friends set to again and started to manage the woodland they rent.
For those of you who have been on one of our courses in the past seven years will know the site. There has been little or no management of the woodland since it was planted in the mid 1960's with many wind blown and dead standing trees. A lot of work was carried out last winter to make the camping and classroom area safe, which thinned out the dead and dying trees to let more light into the woodland. Many new plant species have been spotted this Spring and Summer with lots of self set trees doing well. Mike and Kev took time out of the week to film some of the woodland management already carried out and to plan more work for Winter 2014/2015. They also filmed the equipment used around camp along with the camp layout, latrine and tarp area.
The film is also on our YouTube Channel in the Trips and Events playlist.
