A good example of great design. Very very simple to convert from the closed to open position and back and once in position its as rock solid as any fixed frame saw. I didn’t try the all purpose blade as I bought the Rancher blade after watching a youtube review or it cutting seasoned ironwood in half the time. Seems little reason to use the all purpose over the rancher but i’ve not compared and won’t use it on green wood much. It might suit your use better.

Worth every single penny -- Having previously used the Bahco Laplander for years, I decided I needed something that was able to cope with bigger logs (the Laplander is also a pruning saw, more suited to green wood!) -- the Boreal21 goes through 6 inch logs without me breaking a sweat - very pleased! And, Tamarack is by far the cheapest place to buy in the UK.

Excellent bit of kit. Used it for a woodland camp the other night and it performed really well. Bit pricey but a quality, nicely designed saw which I'm confident will last! I couldn't decide whether to buy the 21 or 24 but the 21 is perfect for chopping wood for a campfire.
