One of the reasons i bought this was to save on electricity when i wanted a cuppa sit it on top of the woodburner to heat up it also holds enough water to do a little washing up control the woodburner, it will boil without any problem. this kettle is brilliant and does the trick, if you have a woodburner with a flat top, get the petromax you will soon see how useful it can be. if it doesnt get quite hot enough just put enough of the hot water for a cuppa into the electric kettle to finish it.
